Lutheran Medical Center Jump Starts Identity and Access Management with Encentuate

Encentuate Installs E-SSO and Strong Authentication with Configured Workflows in Less Than Three Weeks

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. - November 13, 2007 — Encentuate, Inc. today announced that Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York has deployed Encentuate's end-point identity and access management (IAM) suite to automate access and strengthen security across 20 core applications. Lutheran selected Encentuate for fast deployment and easy adoption for its more than 4000 end-users. Encentuate's software-based solution integrates seamlessly into Lutheran's physical and logical environment, without the need for changes to Lutheran's VMware virtualized infrastructure.

To promote consistency in user experience and reduce costs, Lutheran caregivers and staff use their existing building badges for strong authentication. Beyond single sign-on, Encentuate provides workflow automation for Lutheran's most cumbersome applications. Users simply single-sign on to their applications and Encentuate's click-stream automation capability takes them to where they need to be within the application, saving valuable time. Encentuate provides fast access to patient data and prevents unauthorized access to sensitive medical records in Lutheran's shared workstation environment, where users login and out many times throughout the day.

"We evaluated several solutions and chose Encentuate for its unique ability to meet all of our project requirements. From purchase to implementation, Encentuate worked quickly to get us up and running within our aggressive timeline," said Steve Art, chief information officer for Lutheran Medical Center. "Encentuate's software-based solution works well with our virtualized infrastructure, and our staff was able to adopt the solution on-the-fly."

With Encentuate IAM, the Lutheran IT department was able to implement enterprise single sign-on (E-SSO) immediately with a simple wizard-based tool. Encentuate also provides Lutheran with self-help password reset to mitigate costly IT help desk calls and delays in information access. With this feature, end-users are empowered to reset forgotten passwords without the hassle of contacting IT. In addition, Encentuate gives IT complete control over identity and workflow policies, and offers comprehensive reporting capabilities by tracking activity across all end-points and collating information centrally.

"We're thrilled to support Steve and his team as they focus their efforts to improve efficiency and enforce security," said Zorawar Biri Singh, president and chief executive officer of Encentuate. "Lutheran is dedicated to the total well-being of the community and its residents, and we are proud to support their efforts through our comprehensive identity and access management offerings."
