About Us

Corporate Overview

Encentuate® is a leading provider of identity and access management (IAM) solutions that enable enterprises to automate access to corporate assets, strengthen security, and track compliance at the end-points.

For end-users and IT managers who are unhappy with clunky, insecure, and unaudited access to their digital and physical resources, Encentuate IAM is the first end-point identity management solution that combines strong authentication, enterprise single sign-on (E-SSO), workflow and session management, and global audits in a fast-to-deploy package.

Unlike typical single sign-on products, our solution has the architecture, features, and customizations required to quickly secure and enable audits of all existing applications and workflows.

SC Magazine named Encentuate the best identity management solution in 2007 and the best single sign-on and best two-factor authentication solution in 2006. The company has also won the "Hot Companies Award" — in 2006 & 2007 — from the InfoSecurity Products Guide.

Encentuate is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California. and has offices across North America and in Singapore. Encentuate was founded in 2001 and is a privately held by the founders and private investors.

Solutions & Products

Encentuate delivers a simple, flexible, and complete IAM solution at the enterprise end-points, without any change to the existing infrastructure. Encentuate intelligently enables user-centric IAM functions such as, enterprise single sign-on, authentication management, and audit & compliance services, at the enterprise end-points, while integrating with provisioning and directory services at the enterprise back-end.

The Encentuate solution covers all major enterprise end-points, including Windows personal and shared workstations, Citrix, Terminal Services and Web portals. It ensures users are strongly authenticated, enjoy the same access experience, and are tracked across all end-points.

Encentuate IAM takes a different approach to IAM: it extends IAM to the end-points while maintaining central administration. Key capabilities include:

  • Comprehensive support for strong authentication devices: including any personal device via Encentuate iTag, building access badges, USB tokens, OTP, Active RFID, biometrics, smart-cards, and mobile phones.
  • E-SSO and access automation: enabling not just single sign-on to all application types, but also simplifying access to information through event automation.
  • Session Management: enabling multiple sessions on shared kiosks; Encentuate Private Desktop is unique in supporting multiple concurrent sessions on workstations without the need for Citrix or Terminal Services.
  • Customizable Tracking, Centralized audits: enabling customizable tracking of end-point events with central collation in SQL databases for easy enterprise reporting.
  • Widest coverage of end-points: across Windows, Citrix, Terminal Services, web/portals, thin-client devices, and PDA web access, ensuring consistent access experience and tracking.

Differentiation

Encentuate IAM goes beyond E-SSO. Industry analysts recognize and acknowledge that Encentuate has the following differentiation:

  • Complete end-point coverage: Encentuate is the only vendor with a complete end-point vision, covering all major network end-points (including, windows platforms, Terminal Services, Citrix and web portals.) Encentuate Web Workplace provides complete SSO to all applications through the browser. Complete end-point coverage enables enterprises to provide a consistent login experience and comprehensive user-centric tracking across the entire network.
  • Beyond E-SSO: focus on simplifying information access: Instead of E-SSO Encentuate focuses on simplifying information access. Encentuate is unique in providing Private Desktop, which enables multiple concurrent sessions to be supported in kiosk environments, without the need for Terminal Services or Citrix.
  • Leverage what you have to strongly authenticate: Not only does Encentuate support the usual strong tokens, Encentuate is unique in focusing on "what you have, already" as a 2nd factor; including support for all major building badges, and leveraging cell phones and personal devices (through Encentuate iTag) as strong authentication factors. The concept of "zero-footprint tokens" guides our approach to strong authentication.
  • Track anything, collate everything: Not only does Encentuate collate end-point events centrally in an SQL database, Encentuate is also unique in allowing enterprises to customize what end-user activity they want to track.
  • Robust presentation layer technology at the end-point: Encentuate has developed a robust technology layer at all major end-points. This technology "observes" user-level events by collating presentation layer events, triggers on any specific event, and automates any desired actions. This agent technology is the foundation of our E-SSO, automation engine, and our ability to "track anything, collate everything".

"Encentuate's solution is very robust and easily supported our complex workflow requirements. In addition to combining computer and physical access into our existing employee badges, the solution is invisible to the users, which is critical to gaining support from our health care staff and ensuring implementation success."
